Carlington is a serene, family-centric neighbourhood surrounding the Carlington Hill and Park. Most of the homes are detached single-family dwellings and were built between 1940 and 1970. Prices range from $250K-$650K for detached houses while attached homes vary in price from $250K-$550K.

Recreation

There are many wonderful parks in the Carlington neighbourhood which offer sports fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, wading pools, and splash pads, ice skating and hockey rinks, and more. The central Carlington Park provides residents with ample opportunities for recreational activities from bike paths to an off-leash dog park, and the most notable feature—the huge toboggan hill.

The active Carlington community association sponsors several annual events to bring the neighbourhood together including the Carlington Cup, a shinny hockey tournament, Carlington Family Fun Day, Rain Barrel Sale, Winter Carnival, Yard and Plant Sale, and others.

Bordering the neighbourhood to the East is the Experimental Farm where you can walk through the country’s oldest Arboretum, home to 10,000 varieties of plants, the beautiful Ornamental Gardens, and visit the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.

Shopping and Dining

The Westgate Shopping Centre is located on the north side Carlington and residents will find a variety of shops and services in this mall of approximately 40 stores and eateries. A Walmart Supercentre is situated on the south end of the community for all your personal and grocery needs as well as at the Carlingwood Shopping Centre a little further to the west.

With over 120 stores including a Loblaw’s for groceries, apparel shops, pharmacy, electronics stores, a full food court with plenty of comfortable seating, banks, medical and dental offices, beauty salons, a YMCA, and so much more—residents will find everything they need in one convenient location.

There are a few restaurants located right in the neighbourhood including Singha Thai, La Cabana, Café 1274, and Monkey Joes Bar and Grill with many other options a short distance away Carling Avenue, Merivale Road, and Baseline Road.

Schools and Churches

Residents will find excellent options for schools in Carlington, including First Journey Montessori, St. Elizabeth Elementary School, W.E. Gowling Public School, St. Nicholas Adult High School, and the private Turnbull School. Churches in Carlington include St. Elizabeth Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Trinity United Church, Church of God of Prophecy, St. Bonaventure Eglise, and Rhema Christian Ministries.
