Located in the Ottawa Greenbelt, Elmvale Acres/Hawthorne Park is a well-established neighbourhood built on top of farmland. Homes in this area were built between 1950-1970 and are mostly detached with spacious yards filled with mature trees. Prices are quite affordable ranging from $275K-$600K. One of Ottawa’s two VIA Rail train stations is also located in this area.


There are plenty of recreational opportunities available for residents of Elmvale Acres/Hawthorne Park, including three community centres as well as a community garden. In addition, the Elmvale Shopping Centre is located on the corner of St. Laurent Boulevard and Smyth Road, and offers a wide variety of shopping and services including a grocery store, pharmacy, bank, LCBO, and more. There are also many restaurants in the area for dining in as well as take-out.

Schools and Churches

Elmvale Acres/Hawthorne Park features numerous excellent schools including Arch Street Public School, Hawthorne Public School, Hillcrest High School, Riverview Alternative School, Vincent Massey Public School, and Canterbury High School, which offers a specialized program for the arts. The St. Aiden’s Anglican Church Elmvale Acres is a local church in the area.
