Where is Westboro & Hintonburg in Ottawa?

Often known as Westboro Village, it is located just east of the Downtown core and south of the Ottawa River. Enjoy great views of the river whilst taking a walk or enjoying a coffee in one of the many great cafes located here.

There is an abundance of amazing restaurants and food options available all over Ottawa, but definitely, some of our favourites are in Westboro and Hintonburg.

Where else would you go for burgers but the aptly named Hintonburger? If you are looking for a “locavore” experience, head down the street to Tennessy Willems for wood-fired pizza. Or, enjoy all-day breakfast at the ever-popular Baker Street Café in Westboro.

Best Things to do in Westboro & Hintonburg

In Westboro, all you need to do is stroll up and down Richmond Road to find great shops, cafes, and entertainment options. In Hintonburg, head over to the Escape Manor for a group adventure and celebrate your success with a brewery tour at Brew Donkey. 

Do you consider yourself a Foodie? Then Hintonburg’s Supper Club is definitely for you. On the flipside, there is Westboro’s Thursday Running Club that meets at MEC for a group run. And of course, you will regularly find community-focused events like the Westboro FUSE Fashion show, held in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women.

Transit Options

Getting to Westboro is pretty easy and you’ll have plenty of options. Bayview Station connects you with the O-Train and buses, including the Trillium line and Central bus route. If you fancy making the trip on your bike, don’t fear, Westboro is very safe with many places to lock up your bike throughout the main streets

If you are arriving by car, you will appreciate the area’s easy access to the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, Queensway, and Trans-Canada Highway. In Westboro, you can find some free street parking on Richmond road and a few of the adjacent side streets too. There is also paid parking options available too.

Built between 1900 and 1960, detached houses in this area range in price from $325K-$1.3 Mil+ while attached homes vary from $350K – $1Mil. There are also newer houses in the area built after 1990.
