The neighbourhood of Riverside Park/Mooney’s Bay is nestled in between the Rideau River and the Airport Parkway. Largely developed in the 1970-80s, most of the homes are detached single-family houses in the range of $360K-$2.6Mill+ for the premium waterfront estates. Attached homes vary in price from $275K to $470K.

Recreation

Much of the outdoor recreational activity in this neighbourhood centres around Mooney’s Bay Park and its beach on the Rideau River. The park hosts annual festivals and events and offers wonderful areas for picnics and gatherings. It is also home to Canada’s largest playground built to commemorate Canada’s 150th anniversary and features play structures which celebrate our nation’s diverse provinces.

Riverside Park/Mooney’s Bay is home to the Terry Fox Stadium which offers recreational programs, sports activities, a fitness centre, summer camps for kids, and classes for all ages to help keep the mind and body active.

The neighbourhood also contains several basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, playgrounds and splash pads, as well as sports fields, a skateboard park, and outdoor ice skating rinks.

Shopping and Dining

Residents of Riverside Park/Mooney’s Bay are a short distance from Billings Bridge Shopping Centre with over 90 stores including a Walmart, grocery store, bookstore, several electronics shops, 3 banks, LCBO, Bulk Barn, pharmacy, beauty salons, post office, a variety of fashion retailers, and many other shops as well as a full food court.

The South Keys shopping district is also nearby and features many restaurants, big-box retailers and smaller stores and services as well as a Cineplex Odeon movie theatre. There are numerous restaurants located in the neighbourhood offering family friendly to upscale dining, fast food and take-out options.

Schools and Churches

Riverside Park/Mooney’s Bay residents have access to excellent schools which include the Brookfield High School, General Vanier Public School, Bayview Public School, Ecole Elementaire Catholique Georges-Etienne Cartier, Fielding Drive Public School, and Holy Cross Catholic School.

Churches in the area include Holy Cross Parish, Riverside United Church, Church of the Resurrection, and St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral.
