Pinecrest includes the area from Baseline Road to the shores of the beautiful Ottawa River with homes that were developed mainly between 1950 and 1970. Most of the houses are detached single-family dwellings with a few attached homes and several large apartment buildings. Detached houses range in price from $300K-$470K and attached homes from $275K-$325K.

Recreation

Pinecrest offers its residents a multitude of options for recreational activities. Neighbourhood parks contain sports fields, wading pools and splash pads, basketball and tennis courts, play structures and ice rinks and tobogganing hills for Winter fun.

The Pinecrest Recreational Complex has a wide range of amenities such as a swimming pool, hockey arena, fitness centre, meeting rooms and offers many programs and courses for all ages and summer camps for kids.

The Pinecrest Terrace Community House features a community garden, adult and children’s programs, and hosts events such as Summer and Winter Holiday Parties, BBQs, Canada Day Celebrations, and others. Funhaven is an indoor amusement centre in Pinecrest with laser tag, climbing wall, bumper cars, jungle gym, mini bowling, and many other fun activities for children both young and old.

Shopping and Dining

IKEA Ottawa and Pinecrest Mall are located in the neighbourhood and offer a variety of stores including Michael’s, Chapters, Sears Home Store, and others. Also in the area are many restaurants such as Bridgehead, Big Rig Kitchen and Brewery, Milestones Grill and Bar, Milano Pizzeria, and more.

Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre and Bayshore Shopping Centre are a short drive from the neighbourhood. Lincoln Fields is a smaller mall with over 40 stores while Bayshore is one of Ottawa’s largest malls with over 200 stores and restaurants featuring many brand-name shops to anchor stores Walmart, Winners, and Hudson’s Bay, speciality shops, and much more.

Schools and Churches

Many great schools are located in Pinecrest including Pinecrest Public School, Bishop Hamilton Montessori, Joan of Arc Academy, Our Lady of Victory School, Severn Avenue Public School, and Woodroffe High School. Churches in the area of Pinecrest include All Saints Lutheran Church, Bethany Baptist Church, Brittania United Church, Paroisse St-Remi, St Stephen’s Anglican Church, and St. John the Apostle Church.
